Are you a woman who wants to make a difference? Soroptimists are….
We are a membership organisation open to all women who want to make a meaningful difference. By joining, you become part of a supportive, purposeful community taking action to improve the lives of women and girls locally, nationally and globally. Membership connects you with inspiring women, impactful projects, and a shared commitment to creating positive change — offering friendship, learning, and the chance to contribute in a way that fits your life.
Soroptimist International is a global women’s organisation with Clubs all over the world. The local Soroptimist Club ‘St Albans and District’ has a lively and diverse group of more than 30 women members from St Albans and the surrounding areas. The work of the Club is varied covering health, education, the environment, violence against women and girls and more. We are not afraid to tackle difficult issues.

You could be a Soroptimist…..
Members of Soroptimist International St Albans & District are from St Albans and the surrounding areas. We also have “Linked Members” who live outside of the area but want to be linked to our Club and are involved with all of the Club’s online activities. SIGBI also offers Associate Membership and there are some Clubs that only meet online. Charities supported by the club are many and varied but always include the SAHWR Refuge, and the Herts Domestic Abuse. Throughout the year we arrange and challenge speakers on local and national issues, and participate in activities so that we are “women inspiring action, transforming lives”. For details of the Club’s programme, where we meet and when click please on Programme.
Soroptimists are always delighted to welcome new members and guests. To find out more please use the Contact Us form or email [email protected].
