Swindon and Salisbury Soroptimists invite you to join us for a free launch and networking event, which aims to bring together professionals, charities and volunteers who work with victims of Domestic Abuse across Wiltshire and introduce a new booklet called Fresh Thoughts.
Soroptimist International’s (SI's) vision is a world where women and girls together achieve their individual and collective potential, realise their aspirations and have an equal voice in creating strong, peaceful communities worldwide.
The Swindon and District Soroptimists work through awareness campaigns and active projects with local, national and international partners to educate, empower and enable opportunities for women and girls.

Meeting Date: 4th Wednesday each month (exc. August & Dec) @ 7.00pm.
Working closely with our partners is the key to achieving our club's aims. Our partners include: The Nelson Trust, SWA and Swindon & Phoenix Rotary Clubs. See more details in our project pages.
Each year, with wonderful support from family and friends, Swindon Soroptimists make up 25 Christmas gift bags for the Nelson Trust Swindon Women’s Centre.
Members of the Nelson Trust have said “Your support is invaluable as always. The women are going to love these, as for many this is the only present they’ll get this Christmas”.
Swindon Soroptimists donate over 200 books each year books to Drove Primary School
We made our first donation in 2015, after the staff at Drove Primary School told us that they needed more children’s books, and we haven’t stopped collecting books since!
Our contributions have helped toward stocking the new Library and we were delighted to be invited by Rachel Liddiard, Drove English lead to attend their Grand Opening in 2025.
Learning of the choice many women in Africa have to make between personal clothing or sending a child to school etc. we started to collect good condition used bras for the charity ZABRA and their AfreeBra initiative. Partnering with Rotary and local groups we have collected over 9,000 bras and pants in 3 years.
In Sept 2026 we were pleased to be invited to the Grand Opening of the refurbished Swindon Centre, hearing inspiring speakers such as Lady Lansdowne, DL Nicky Alberry, MP Heidi Alexander and CEO Christina, as well as heart rending life stories from two survivors.
The speakers left us in no doubt of the life changing work done by Nelson Trust staff, as Bobby put it, ‘there are heroes that don’t wear capes’, with Kristina saying 'they were a glimmer of hope in the darkness’.
As one of several partnerships we have, members registered for the Army Welfare Service networking event in Corsham. We were impressed by the huge range of charities and services that support the Army, from Domestic Abuse, Mental Health, Housing to Schooling, Resettlement, Energy Saving and many more. We were able to highlight the wide range of work we do as Soroptimists, especially on Domestic Abuse and gave out over 120 of our Relationship bookmarks, as well information on our new Fresh Thoughts booklet. We made several new connections and several will attend our Fresh Thoughts launch.
