President’s message

It is a pleasure and privilege to be representing the club as President.  I am very much looking forward to working with such an inspiring group of ladies from all walks of life.  Their support will be invaluable and together we aim to have a year of work, fun and friendship.

My chosen charity for the year is Chernobyl 2000 (www.chernobyl2000.co.uk ), a locally-based charity devoted to helping people in Belarus still living with the aftermath of the nuclear disaster 26 years ago.  We will also be continuing our support of the Shakespeare Hospice and will be having a stall at their carnival; donating money earned by manning a water station at the Shakespeare Marathon; and holding a ‘Wardrobe Mistakes’ sale.   We continue to support Stratford’s Springfield Mind and look forward to providing our usual  help in the kitchen for their summer strawberry tea and their carol service.

We enjoy social activites and will be having our own version of a Day at the Races lunch, garden tours, local walks, and reading with our book group.

We are delighted to welcome new members.  E-mail us at sisoa@live.co.uk if you would like more information or come along to one of our meetings.
