About our Club
Epsom and District Soroptimists love being part of the largest women’s organisation in the world and are delighted that last year’s plan to introduce open meetings to the programme proved to be really successful. Prospective members are welcome to ‘dip in and out’ of activities – social or more serious, before they decide whether they want to join us. We have widened our range of interests, but we never forget to be true to the ethos of Soroptimist International and have the wellbeing of other women and girls, locally and around the world, at the heart of all we do.
We meet on the 2nd Monday of each month at Wemms, W Block, Therfield School, Dilston Road, Leatherhead KT22 7NZ. Soroptimist International is an apolitical organisation and welcomes members from all faiths, cultures and beliefs, but the church facilities are warm and welcoming – like our members, we hope! There is always plenty on the agenda – SI Southern England regional news, projects highlighted by the Programme Action Team, Fundraising and an update on Social Events for our club and others in our region. Our fundraising and social activities take place in members’ homes, at Wemms and in other venues in our area.
We are a small (but growing) group of women, but that allows us to be very flexible with programme planning and it gives every member a chance to feel that they have a meaningful part to play and are able to ‘have their say’. We appreciate the views of established and new members alike and welcome the fresh thinking that the latter bring with them.
We have celebrated our 60th Anniversary and have been looking back through the SI Epsom archives. Our achievements to date look pretty impressive, but there is so much more that we can accomplish.
We’d love to meet you, so why not contact us through this site and pay us a visit. A warm welcome awaits.
