What we do

We call our voluntary work “Programme Action”, what we do can be both practical and hands on. At a local level we aim to improve the lives and status of women and girls through education, empowerment or enabling activities. In a wider context we act as a global voice for increasing access to education and leadership for women and girls worldwide.

We send materials such as broken/unused household items to be recycled by and for charities in need around the world.  If you have any of the following around the house please feel free to donate at your next meeting:

  • Jewellery – broken, lost pairs, costume etc
  • Bra’s
  • Blister packs

Lend with Care

‘Lendwithcare brings together entrepreneurs in low-income countries with the people that have the power to help them – people like you. Run by CARE International UK, one of the world’s leading poverty fighting organisations, Lendwithcare is a revolutionary way for you to help people to work their way out of poverty with dignity.’

Milford Haven School

We have provided help with prom nights in the for of dress/suit donations, as well as alterations.  In 2023 we made a financial contribution to keep ticket costs down so as many students as possible could attend.

We also regularly donate hygiene products to be distributed to the students that need them

We support local organisations such as PATCH both raising funds and donating goods. Recently we donated funds toward equipment for Milford Haven Gymnastics, a group that works with young people from the locality.

We raise awareness of health issues by campaigning locally, for instance our “Paint the Town Pink” initiative, Alcohol Awareness in local schools and Endometriosis.

Together with  clubs throughout the country we work with organisations overseas such as the BIG project…Birthing in the Gambia improves the services and life chances for women and their children.

We organise a Charity Film Night at the Torch Theatre, last year it was  “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” in aid of Breast Cancer Research. This year “Philomena” will be shown in aid of our local Women’s Refuge.

Our guest, Nisha Ghosh, from SI Pune presenting a gift to Past President Joan at the Film Night 2013.
