Welcome to Soroptimist International Milton Keynes, a friendly, diverse and welcoming group of 18 women from all walks of life in and around Milton Keynes, united by a single, powerful belief:
that every woman and girl deserves the chance to thrive.
As part of a global volunteering movement with a voice at the United Nations, we work together to improve the lives of women and girls through Awareness, Advocacy and Action. From supporting local charities to raising awareness of issues affecting women worldwide, we turn our shared passion into practical action that makes a difference. We stand side-by-side to protect, educate, and empower women in our local community and globally.

Why Join Us?
Your Time, Your Talents, your chance to make a difference
Our members bring different skills, experiences and ideas, but we share a common purpose: making life better for women and girls.
Through our projects and partnerships; we:
- Offer hope and support by working with MK Act, helping women and families affected by domestic abuse through initiatives such as providing clothing, essential toiletries and fundraising.
- Help women move forward by supporting initiatives that build confidence, develop skills and help women take steps towards employment.
- Raise awareness and challenge attitudes through our Orange-Cafes, community events and campaigns to help end violence against women and girls. We stand loud and clear against gender-based violence.
- Support young women through partnerships with local organisations, including YMCA Milton Keynes, helping young people to rebuild their lives.
- Make a difference together, by supporting local charities, fundraising for worthwhile causes and working with community partners to create positive change.
Every contribution matters. Whether you enjoy organising events, fundraising, sharing ideas, meeting people or helping behind the scenes there is a place for you.
More than volunteering – friendship with purpose
Being a Soroptimist is about more than the projects we support. It is also about friendship, encouragement, learning and belonging to a group of women who want to make a difference.
Our members are from many walks of life and at different stages of their lives. You don’t need special qualifications or previous experience – just an interest in helping others and a willingness to get involved.
We recognise that everyone has different commitments, and we value the time and talents each person can offer. Whether you can give a little time or a lot, your contribution can help improve lives.

We invite you to experience our friendship firsthand. Come and pull up a chair at our next informal gathering, or join us as a guest at a monthly meeting. The coffee is on us, and a warm welcome is guaranteed!
Our regular activities include:
Monthly Branch Meetings: Every third Tuesday evening of the month.
Friendship Lunches: Every last Wednesday afternoon of the month.
Visit us at one of our Orange Cafes: Every last Tuesday of the month
Whether you have a few hours to spare, a particular skill to share, an idea you’d like to develop, or simply a desire to help others, there is a place for you in SI: Milton Keynes.
