Soroptimist International Perth is delighted to congratulate fellow member Gina, who has been nominated by Blairgowrie and Rattray Community Council in recognition of her exceptional contribution to the local community, her commitment to volunteering and her tireless efforts to bring people together.
As Secretary of Blairgowrie and Rattray Community Council, Gina has played an important role in supporting local initiatives, encouraging community participation and helping to ensure that residents’ voices are heard. Her dedication extends well beyond the administrative responsibilities of the position.
Among her achievements has been the establishment of the Blairgowrie International Café, an initiative designed to bring together people from different countries, cultures and backgrounds. The café provides a welcoming environment where friendships can develop, experiences can be shared and newcomers can feel part of the wider community.
Gina has also been particularly active in supporting Ukrainian refugees who have made their homes in the area, helping to foster a spirit of friendship, understanding and inclusion during a challenging period in their lives.
Her enthusiasm for international friendship is further reflected in her involvement in developing twinning links between Blairgowrie and Brebières, a town in northern France, strengthening cultural connections and encouraging cooperation across national boundaries.
These activities reflect the fundamental Soroptimist values of service, friendship, international understanding and making a positive difference through practical action.
Gina’s nomination is a fitting acknowledgement of the time, energy and compassion she has devoted to improving community life in Blairgowrie and Rattray.
Her fellow members of SI Perth are immensely proud of her achievements and delighted to see her contribution receiving recognition.
Congratulations, Gina, and thank you for everything you do for your community!
