What a lovely morning at today’s Tree Celebration! SI Perth proudly co-hosted alongside Blairgowrie and Rattray Community Council, Blairgowrie Climate Cafe, and Biodiversity Blair.
Through the Rooted in Rattray & Blairgowrie project, a fruit tree has been planted for every baby born locally in 2024 and 2025. Families came along to celebrate their child’s tree, collect a certificate showing where it’s planted and enjoy some local refreshments. John Swinney MSP unveiled the project information boards, and Perth and Kinross Council Greenspaces were on hand to answer questions about the trees.
The certificates were handed out by Gina, sporting the Blairgowrie and Rattray Community Council hat 🎩, and a huge thank you to Gameeda, Ellie, Amila, and NataliaxBohdan, who kindly volunteered at both venues 💙
We all enjoyed meeting members of the local community and even managed a chat with the First Minister, John Swinney. We were really chuffed to hear him mention the Soroptimists as supporters of this tree planting project! 👏
