Falkirk Newsline

Newsline is the Forth Valley Talking Newspaper Association, a free weekly audio news service for blind and visually impaired people in the Falkirk District. Recordings of the Falkirk Herald, a monthly magazine, and quarterly Falkirk Council newspapers are sent out on USB memory sticks using Royal Mail's "Articles for the Blind" free delivery service. Players are provided free of charge for local residents who do not have equipment to play the USB sticks.

Forth Valley Talking Newspaper Association (FVTNA) is a registered charity and was founded on 13th November 1981. It has now recorded over 2000 issues of the "Talking Newspaper". S.I Falkirk has provided volunteer readers since 1981 on a two weekly rota with Grangemouth and Falkirk Rotary Clubs.

Recordings of Newsline are made every week throughout the year on a Thursday evening, and volunteers turn out in all weathers to read a range of newspaper articles, record, copy USB’s and empty and fill mailing wallets.

Newsline is completely free for registered listeners living across the Falkirk Council area and Central Scotland. Funding of the service is provided by an annual Grant from Falkirk Council and the donations received from listeners and local organisations.
