Soroptimist International - Widnes

Soroptimist International of Widnes is part of a worldwide organisation of women, which is linked to the United Nations.

Welcome to Soroptimist International of Widnes

Soroptimist International is a global volunteer movement working together to transform the lives of women and girls with nearly 72,000 Members in 121 countries. Soroptimist International Great Britain and Ireland (SIGBI) has 6000 Members in 270 Clubs in 18 countries including Great Britain, Ireland and countries in Asia, the Caribbean and Malta, who work at a local, national and international level to educate, empower and enable opportunities for women and girls.

Our Club, Soroptimist International of Widnes, was chartered in 1944 and we currently have around 20 members. We meet at the Everglades Hotel on the last Monday of the month. Most members take the opportunity of having a meal together there beforehand – a chance to unwind and catch up on friends. The meetings cover club business, progress and activities; we often welcome a speaker, too.

We also hold social and fundraising events too and friendship and fun are central to everything we do. Want to learn more about what we do? Take a look at our projects or catch up on our latest news.

Spend some time browsing through our website. If you like what you see, and would like to know more, just get in touch. We would love to welcome you, in friendship!
