Human rights form the basis of dignity, equality, and safety for every person, and they are central to our mission and values. Across the Federation, members work to uphold these rights through advocacy, education, and practical projects that support women and girls. Whether addressing access to education, tackling poverty, or promoting community wellbeing, SIGBI clubs contribute to creating environments where human rights are respected and protected, and where women and girls can thrive.
The Orange the World campaign—part of the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence—aligns closely with SIGBI’s long-standing commitment to ending violence against women and girls. Each year, SIGBI clubs participate by lighting buildings orange, hosting awareness events, sharing educational materials, and amplifying the message that gender-based violence is a profound human rights violation. The campaign’s use of orange as a symbol of hope resonates strongly with SIGBI’s vision of a brighter, safer future for women and girls everywhere.
By integrating the Orange the World campaign into their annual programme, SIGBI members help turn awareness into action. Clubs advocate for stronger protections, support survivors through local partnerships, and deliver projects that empower women economically, socially, and personally – key steps in preventing violence and promoting equality. This work reinforces the principle that human rights are not abstract ideals but practical commitments that require sustained effort. Through collective action, SIGBI continues to champion a world where every woman and girl can live free from fear and enjoy her full human rights.
