Tools With A Mission

At Whitstable and District Soroptimist International Club, as part of our focus on the environment, we are very happy to support Tools With A Mission (TWAM), a Christian charity that collects unwanted usable tools. The tools are refurbished and sorted in to trade kits for livelihood creation. The mission is to empower people in need, offering a way through distribution of the tools, to put poverty behind them and build a sustainable career. TWAM also promotes waste reduction and environmental sustainability. Through the 'local to global' model, over 200 tonnes of tools is prevented from going in to UK landfill sites annually. Refurbished tools are supplied to over 500 organisations in the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa. The tools and training by volunteers completely transforms lives and communities.
