About Our Club
Welcome to the web site for Soroptimist International of Hallamshire (Sheffield).
SI Hallamshire was chartered in 1971, the second Club in Sheffield and is known to have an active and friendly membership.
Our members come from a variety of of backgrounds, bringing a diversity of experience, knowledge and skills to the Club. We are always keen to extend our friendship to new members wishing to join us in promoting the Vision of Soroptimism.
The club is part of a Global, International Organisation that promotes the commitment to a world where women and girls together can achieve their individual and collective potential, realise aspirations and have an equal voice in creating strong and peaceful communities worldwide.
Soroptimists inspire action and create opportunities to transform the lives of women and girls through a global network of members and international partnerships.
The Club meets twice a month (except August & December) at Tapton Hall,Shore Lane, off Fulwood Road, Sheffield South Yorkshire S10 3BU. Business meetings are held on the second Tuesday and social occasions, which vary considerably, are held on the last Tuesday of the month. Meetings commence at 7.30pm. Do look at our Club Events page.
Our activities range from the lighthearted to the serious and meaningful, from listening, to giving, to making, to taking exercise (gently), all accompanied, in true Soroptimist fashion, by good food and friendship.
Each year the President selects a Charity for which the Club will fundraise.
Club meetings are where members relax and enjoy each others company. We are very much aware of demands upon women’s time and the pressures of home and work. It is recognised that time for some members is limited and we appreciate any level of participation a person can offer.
If you are interested in visiting our Club we will be delighted to welcome you. Please come along to any of our meetings and find out more about us. You may like contact email@example.com or just send a question via our website contact page at www.sigbi.org/hallamshire-sheffield
