Growing the future
This is my second year as President of the London Anglia Region. Last year was busy and this year has started off well, too.
As ever it was a fantastic conference. Conference gives Soroptimists the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life, not just from the UK but other countries in our Federation, including Nigeria, Sierra Leone and India.
The incredible work done by all the members that make up the clubs from right across the Soroptimist International Great Britain and Ireland Federation always amazes me. From local projects supporting their local refuge with toiletries, to ground breaking changes in law and just about everything in between. Our members campaign tirelessly to raise awareness of big issues like modern day slavery, FGM and trafficking. They run special projects like the Purple Teardrop campaign
The most recent Regional Project Neat Feet, Happy Hands has been brilliant and I look forward to the report from Great Yarmouth on December 2nd at our Regional Meeting to hear how that project has fared. It has been a privilege to be able to provide the support and to raise funds. Now we’re moving on to support a project in Zimbabwe, the Pelandaba Orphans’ Charity.
If you are interested in joining our organisation or finding out more about us, please get in touch. We look forward to meeting you.
