Orange the World

Orange the World is a UN campaign (UNiTE to end violence against women by 2030).This initiative which is already happening in some countries in our Federation and across SI Europe has now been launched in the UK by UKPAC.  Our PA Chair Kim Bramham made a short presentation.

The colour Orange symbolises a brighter future, free of violence and serves as a means of demonstrating our solidarity in eliminating all forms of violence.  As such it is used as the colour for the International Day of Eliminating Violence Against women.

The UNiTE campaign has proclaimed the the 25th of each month as ‘Orange Day’ to raise awareness and take action to end vilence against women and girls.  Backed by activists, governments and UN partners it highlights the issues.

It is hoped we will all participate, be it in a full orange dress down to just painted nails or earrings that are orange.  Hope you look good in that colour!

Most of us do!
