May

Monday 16th – ‘BeePlus’ 

Sue Waters and Carole Atkinson from the SI Virtual Club will be talking about the award winning bee project that has caught the imagination of schools around the country.  Thousands of children are learning more about the importance of bees and are helping to stem the decrease in the number of colonies.

Friday 13th – Fundraising Table-top sale of collectibles at Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall

June

Monday 6th – (7.00 for 7.30) Club Supper Evening at Cuddington Golf Club

Friday 10th – Fundraising Table-top sale of collectibles at Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall

Saturday 11th – Ashtead Village Day – raising our profile

Monday 20th – ‘Happy Child International’  – an organisation based in Leatherhead, working with street children in Brazil

Sunday 26th – ‘Garden open to SI Epsom’ – A visit to an accepted ‘yellow book’ garden in Strawberry Hill, plus Yorkshire teas and exhibition.

July

Friday 8th – Fundraising Table-top sale of collectibles at Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall

Thursday 14th – Lunch at The Clink restaurant at Highdown Prison

Monday 18th - ‘Brixton Boxing Club’ – Positive youth work giving youngsters a focus.

August

Monday 16th – ‘Refugee and Migrant Worker Network Sutton’ – An update on how the organisation supports some of the most vulnerable people in the area.

Sunday 28th – ‘Summertime Tea’

September

Monday 19th – ‘MENCAP ‘ – achieving potential - the local perspective.

October

Monday 17th – ‘The Life of Travelling Communities’ told by two local traveller women.

November

Friday 11th – (9.30 – 3.00) Table Top Sale at Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall with proceeds going to SI Epsom’s Good Causes Fund.

Monday 21st – Club Evening with reports from the Brighton Conference and ‘The Way Forward’ – ensuring that the Club continues to flourish.

Monday 28th -  (7.00 for 7.30)  ‘Do young people really have problems or just bad press?’

The Club is lucky to have two very well informed speakers for this event -

  • Adele Eastman – a Senior Policy Specialist with the Centre for Social Justice
  • Joyce Quinnell – CEO of Surrey Clubs for Young People

Monday 16th – Club Evening

31st – February 4th (10.00 – 4.00) ‘Women and their Art’  – A celebration of women’s creativity in the visual arts.  Bourne Hall, Spring Street, Ewell KT17 1UF  This event is in aid of SI Epsom and District’s Educational Support Fund for Young Women and ‘Positive Women’ – a charity working with some of the world poorest people in Swaziland.

Saturday 7th – ‘Quiz Night and Fish & Chip Supper’ at Ewell United Reformed Church

Monday 20th – ‘Guildford Rotary Eye Project ‘- Rotarian John Miles, fresh from his visit to India, will tell us about the work that is restoring sight to so many.

March

Monday 19th - ‘So you want to know who you are!’- Bert Barnhurst of Epsom & Ewell Local and Family History Centre will help us to set about researching our roots.
