The Soroptimists are great at hosting quizzes and the one on 12th November, in person (!), was a corker.
Held at Wodson Park, Ware, members took an active role in making the quiz run smoothly and ensuring everyone had fun. From setting the questions, marking, collecting answer sheets, selling raffle tickets and organising everyone, there was a job for everyone. Teams there to enjoy the fun also kindly helped to clear the hall, when it was all over.
The Mayor of Hertford, Councillor Bob Deering, attended and even joined a table with a team. Tables were limited to just twelve, but were full of skilled quizzers. The room was filled with laughter, in between the seriousness of competing to win and the scores were high.
£931.00 raised for UNICEF . A Ploughman’s tea was included in the price and the winning team prize of wines was adeptly won.
Kate Belinis, our President, thanked everyone for coming and enjoying the first Soroptimist ‘in person’ event for a long time.
Put the next date in your diary 18th November 2022.
