Use the Club Finder to find your local Soroptimist Club. Simply enter your postcode and click search. Then email sally@sigbi.org to tell her which Club you would like to join.

Why not join our first e-Club, SI Libertas, which is based in the UK? Anyone from the UK is welcome to join.

What is an E-club?

E-club monthly meetings are hosted in an online virtual platform.

SI Libertas is SIGBI’s first E-Club enabling  a group of vibrant, diverse, enthusiastic, digitally native women who wanted to change the world by being trailblazers for Sigbi.org. Members of SI Libertas believe in the aims of Soroptimism and are proud to be part of our 100 year old organisation.  The Zoom platform provides a safe place to meet and converse with like minded women.  SI Libertas was chartered on 22 September 2022 and as all Soroptimist clubs do, they perform programme action in local and international communities and enjoy fellowship among members.

Start A New Club

Please see below the procedure for starting a new Club.

The forms referred to in the Guide are available as separate documents. There must be 8 founder Members before a Club can be chartered, and evidence of programme work being undertaken must be provided.

If there is interest in your area to set up another club, there is a team ready to assist you every step of the way.   It is recognised that the possibility of a new club can come about in many ways.  Every Region, National Association, Network and Country will be proactive in regularly reviewing their area for places, which could support a new club.

Forms

The following forms are referred to a various points in the How to Start a New Club guide.  When you require one, please download it here.  All forms are in Word format so that they can be amended:

Before Charter:

Regions/NAs/Networks can apply for an Organisational Development Grant from SIGBI. Any grant must be match-funded by the Region/NA/Network. Please see all the documentation below:

The petition form must be completed and signed by all founder Members of the new Club and sent to SIGBI HQ at least three months before the proposed Charter Date:

A Flexible Approach to Starting a New Club

Liz Batten, SI Salisbury, has written a report on a different method of starting a new Club, whereby the founder members join the mother Club to learn about being Soroptimists before the Club is chartered:
