The latest on our new ‘hybrid’ club

At the beginning of May a small group of soroptimists from the St Austell & District club got together to discuss an idea for a new soroptimist club here in Cornwall. We have loved being in our club but we are aware that the number of women joining the worldwide soroptimist movement is going down fast and the age profile of the membership is going up! We need ways to attract more women, younger women, working women, women from diverse backgrounds and women who haven’t got much time to spare, but that want to make a difference. So…. we are creating a hybrid club which means that women in Cornwall, whether in St. Ives or Bude can join our meetings on line. So no travelling time or expense or coming out on dark, winter nights! We won’t have a fixed location and we will set our meeting times to suit our members. We want to break down the barriers that prevent women from joining up. The more women that we have the more impact we can have on the lives of women and girls.
