Soroptimists were mentioned on the floor of the House this month by MP for Stafford Leigh Ingham. Ms Ingham has been a supporter of Stafford Soroptimists and [tag] Children Heard and Seen’ charity for their work to raise awareness of the impact on children when their parents, and particularly their mothers, are imprisoned. Stafford Soroptimists run a welcome for visitors at HMP Drake Hall three times a week and are working hard to ensure the children of imprisoned mothers get the support they need, working alongside schools and other community groups to ensure that these children, who are innocent of any crime, are protected.
