The United Kingdom Programme Action Committee (UKPAC) provides help and guidance to Soroptimist clubs in the UK in devising, planning and carrying out their project work (known as Programme Action).
Although called the UK PAC, in addition to working with clubs in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, we also work with clubs in the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands of Jersey and Guernsey. And since its inception in 1994 the Committee has established a reputation for taking action on a broad range of topics and successfully lobbying the British government in the pursuit of those objectives.
A key initiative of UK PAC is the campaign to Stop Violence Against Women – Stop It Now! and as part of this campaign SI Bradford make up “comfort bags” to distribute to women who have been subjected to violence. Each bag contains a selection of necessities, such as toiletries, to make each woman’s life that bit easier as they come to terms with the trauma in the lives.
