WINNER of Health and Food Security is SI Republic of Ireland for their work on Positive Mental Health & Suicide Prevention
ASIST is a 2-day skills based workshop that helps prepare individuals of all backgrounds to provide emergency first-aid and life-assisting interventions to persons at risk of suicide. This workshop provides opportunities to learn what a person at risk may need from others in order to keep safe and get help. Suicide first aid helps meet some of the challenges in reducing suicidal behaviour. It could save a life.
To promote positive mental health with a particular focus on women and children and reduce the stigma associated with suicidal behaviour and emotional distress that exists among the general public.
Also nominated were SI Falkirk and SI Arusha and SI Barbados.
WINNER of Violence and Conflict Resolution is SI India for their work on Gender Sensitisation work in Pune Metro East, Chennai, Kodaikanal and Bangalore
SI India have won this award for the excellent work these four Clubs have done on getting not just young people but also parents and the public to be more aware of issues affecting gender, from behaviour to safety etc. Clubs used creative ways such a street plays to get their message across.
Also nominated were SI Nigeria and SI Kingston upon Hull.
OVERALL WINNERS are SI Republic of Ireland and SI India
