Presentation of the Cheque to M.I.N.D A cheque in the sum of £1618,00 was presented to M.I.N.D on behalf of Region – North West England and the Isle of Man by SI Pendleside President Maureen Howarth (Immediate Past Regional President Soroptimist International Great Britain, Ireland and North West England). The photograph is of President Maureen and a representative of the charity M.I.N.D based in Chorley Lancashire.
The Darwen Shield
Darwen Shield 2019 The plaque has been made from the Darwen Presidents chain and is awarded at the June regional meeting to the Club for their Programme Action work. S.I. Pendleside were both shocked and delighted to have been presented with this for their work with custodians.

Newsletter No 2 April 2019 KNITTING – In November last year SI Pendleside handed over 18 brightly coloured baby blankets and 5 baby cardigans which were forwarded to the Fistula Clinic in Addis Ababa to help mothers keep their new babies warm. This is a long-standing project and is, of course, ongoing so come on ladies – get those needles out! Members and some of the ladies who come and sing with us at Tunes on Thursdays are thanked for their continuing contributions, together with Kathleen’s lady friends in Clitheroe who in recent months have been adding to our collection and stitching squares together to make the blankets.
