Friendship Links play an important role in our Club activities and are nurtured with due diligence.

Our newest addition to this list, is our Friendship Link with another SIGBI club – SI New Delhi, India.
Our FL officer tries to keep in contact with all Friendship links by corresponding with them, sending them our Newsletters and write-up of our projects from time to time. She has also been trying to collate the FL certificates from our Link Clubs.
Any communication received from our FL Clubs is shared with all our members.
To observe World Earth Day SI South Kolkata got together with our Friendship Link SI Bangalore to put up a Webinar on 22nd April 2022, with the theme – Invest in our Planet. Three renowned Environmentalists Dr. Dhriti Banerjee, Mr Pravinjit KP and Dr. Vandana Shiva were the three esteemed speakers.
Some members of SISK took part in the 100-year Birthday and Awards Ceremony celebrations of our FL club– SI Los Angeles. We sent them a short Video clip conveying our wishes which they incorporated and beamed on their online event held on the 14th May 2022. The Celebration was put up on YouTube and shared with all members.
SISK was also invited to the Centenary Celebrations of SI New York City held on 7th March 2023 at Cornell Club New York.
We had some notable visitors to Kolkata from SI Clubs from India and abroad. Angmo Konchok PAO from SI Leh paid a visit to Kolkata in June before the charter of their Club.
A few members of SISK and SIC met her at Meenakshi Ray’s for an evening get-together.
Reena Bhanotha, President SI Croydon and then Director Finance SIGBI Federation paid a visit to her hometown, Kolkata in July 2022. Quite a few members of SISK and SIC met her at Soma Dasgupta’s place for potluck lunch.
SIGBI President Cathy Cottridge and SIGBI Programme Director Lindsay Green visited us in mid-February this year. Beside the serious official work there were a lot of fun activities with them despite the very short time they had at hand. They were introduced to some of the historic sites of Kolkata and feted with lunch at Govinda’s.
The last but not the least was the visit of SI Past President Sharon Fisher in March 2023. We were fortunate to have an informal get together with sumptuous food and a hearty exchange of ideas at Laxmi Parasuram’s apartment. It was truly an enjoyable evening of bonding and bonhomie.
