SISK celebrates 19th Charter Day

SISK marked the day in a very low key manner in deference to the prevalent situation in Kolkata.
After a brief General Meeting with a short agenda, President Shukla spoke about the projects being undertaken currently by SISK.
Ms Rupkatha Sarkar, a past SISKian and present Principal of La Martiniere School, gave a talk on “Perspectives of Parenting for Peace”. She spoke about the need for parents to be good role models instilling good values in their children instead of expecting schools to step in. Each child needs to be taught gratitude, appreciation and empathy to become ambassadors of peace. The session was interactive with many members putting their points across for discussion.
This was followed by a commemoration of the “mother” of the Club, Laxmi Parasuram, handing over to her the certificate that SIGBI had sent to mark 45 years of her being a Soroptimist.
Cake cutting, group photos and refreshments followed.
SISK thanks Laxmi Parasuram for sponsoring the refreshments and Reshma Narwani for the cake. Thanks to Membership Officer Punam Agarwal for ably organising the food.
An evening of goodwill and camaraderie was had by all present.
