Soroptimist International of South Kolkata celebrated Membership Day on 18th May with a lot of cheer and goodwill, ably organised by Membership & OD Officer, Punam Agarwal. First off, President Shukla spoke about some projects that were on the anvil, among others, IPER Swadhina, for which member Anita has donated a sewing machine. She gifted a memento to the “mother” of SISK, Laxmi Parasuram and requested her to say a few words. Laxmi regaled us with stories of how she began by “catching” prospective members when she began the club. Her new book is about to be launched and she keeps us in admiration for her zest for life.
