Our club had a fantastic weekend recently celebrating the 75th birthday of SI Stourbridge and District. It is an amazing achievement to maintain an active and vibrant club for 75 years, we acknowledged all the women who have gone before us and made our club what it is today, all the great local, national and international projects we have initiated or supported and the lives the club has changed. It really was a recognition of our theme for this year that “We rise by lifting others”.
Members enjoyed a Diamond Dinner at Hogley Golf club on Friday 22.7.22 with the incredible magician John Milner keeping us spellbound. 7 members were awarded gifts for over 25 years service, immediate past president Linda celebrated our programme action and vice president Su gave us flavour of the history of the club.
On Saturday 23.7.22 we carried on our celebrations with a 1940’s garden party in Linda and Paul’s beautiful garden. It wasn’t just the tea that flowed and a few bubbles certainly made the afternoon fizz! The teas were gorgeous thanks to Lunch on the Run (wonderful social business www.lunchontherun.co.uk) and the music from Miss Ellaneous female vocal duo was amazing (we recommend them unreservedly! www.miss-ellaneous.co.uk). A truly memorable weekend.
