A fabulous afternoon at Lytham Hall as we celebrated the amazing contribution to the community that our Charity – Speak Up for Women – has made over the last 13 years! Over £700,000 has been given to local charities and community organisations by means of grants and donations.
It was wonderful to hear how this money has made such a difference. Representatives of Park View 4U, Wesley’s Community Cafe & Larder Fylde Rugby Community Foundation, Age UK, Community Workshop Lytham, Lytham Hall, Lowther Pavilion Theatre, IHOPE, Just Good Friends – North West, The League of Friends of Cliftin Hospital, Fylde Sharks, Connect Community Choir, Streetwise, along with other local organisations, all joined in thanking the Fylde Soroptimist Charity for all their support over the years. Guests enjoyed drinks and a delicious hotpot and were able to mingle and share stories.
Then the fabulous cake was cut by Chair of the Charity, Sarah Willitts and founder member Linda Beddows, MBE. The charity will now wind down, but Fylde Soroptimists will continue to support their local community as they have done for the past 88 years! SIGBI Communications & Membership.
