As part of the worldwide Soroptimist movement, SI Fylde is proud to maintain a number of Friendship Links with other clubs in the UK and overseas. These links allow us to share ideas, support one another’s projects, and build lasting connections across regions and continents.
SI Tynedale
Based in Hexham in the Northern England Region, SI Tynedale has been a Friendship Link for many years. Their work includes projects in Rwanda, helping to train girls and young women in cookery skills, and supporting Chrysalis, a charity that assists people living with dementia, along with their families and carers. This charity was founded by a former Soroptimist and her friends, and continues to make a real difference.
SI Guernsey
Our Friendship Link with SI Guernsey in the Channel Islands has also been long-standing. With over 50 active members, Guernsey is a thriving club that has worked on a range of important projects, including providing much needed goods to communities in Afghanistan. Occasionally, members from Fylde have visited Guernsey and enjoyed meeting with their members, and we look forward to exploring future opportunities to collaborate.
SI Skipton-in-Craven
SI Skipton-in-Craven in the Yorkshire Region is a newer Friendship Link, but one that is already growing in strength. Members visit each other and support events wherever possible. Recently, Skipton members joined us for a visit to Dewlay Cheese Factory, followed by afternoon tea at Barton Grange, which was enjoyed by all. We hope to develop further joint projects in the future.
SI Bonaberi
Located in Cameroon, SI Bonaberi undertakes a wide range of projects to support the health and well-being of women and children. Fylde Soroptimists are proud to offer support whenever possible and to stand alongside them in their vital work.
