Soroptimist International - Tynemouth, Whitley Bay and District

Soroptimist International of Tynemouth, Whitley Bay and District is part of a worldwide organisation of women, which is linked to the United Nations.

Welcome to our club website

We are an active group of women who are committed to making a difference to the lives of women and girls, locally, nationally and around the world.  Working together, we use our shared skills and experience to take action on a range of issues and at the same time form friendships that can last a lifetime.

Our club postcard was designed by Michelle Wood at Sea Tern Print.

As part of a truly international movement, our work has an impact beyond our club and Soroptimist International’s role in the UN gives us a global voice. Find out more about the vision and mission of the Soroptimist movement here.

You can find out more about what we do by going to About Our Club and Club News on the menu on the right of this page.

One of our members recently summed up the work of a Soroptimist club in the following words:

Friendship, a commitment to supporting women in times of need, and a desire to serve remain at the heart of why we are all here. They underpin not only our membership of this local club, but also our connection to a wider, international network of women we proudly call our sisters.

If you’re interested in joining us, or have any questions about our club,  please contact our Membership Officer,  Louise, on lbower6@aol.com or come along to one of our meetings. We meet at 7.00 pm on the second Monday of the month, except for August, at The Crescent Club, Victoria Crescent, Cullercoats, NE30 4PN.
