Kate Fussel valued and long term member of Soroptimist International Wigan was honoured by Wigan Borough when she received a star at Wigan Town Hall on March 12th. Kate who is 90 was Wigan’s first female surgeon and was at one time one of only six in the country, she was awarded her star as part of the towns International Women’s Day celebrations. She was surrounded by friends, members of SI Wigan and other South Lancashire Soroptimist International Clubs. She is a past club President, South Lancashire President and International President for SIGBI in 1986.
