Our members come from the city of Canterbury and the surrounding areas and villages.
We have a full programme of meetings, social events, project work (programme action) and service work to support local groups, organisations or charities.
Friends of SI Canterbury and prospective members are welcome to attend. For more information please contact our club secretary on: canterburysecretary2019@gmail.com or use our contact page on this website.
CLUB MEETINGS:
These are held on the 4th Thursday of every month (except December) at 6.30pm for a 7.00pm start. Club meetings focus on programme action work and often include an outside speaker.
BUSINESS MEETINGS:
Our business meetings are held as and when the committee require them, usually monthly or bi monthly. These meetings focus on the organisation and stability of the club as an entity. All members are welcome to attend.
SOCIAL MEETINGS
Those members who are available meet during the day on the 2nd Friday of each month at a venue agreed each month and on the second Tuesday evening at a Canterbury pub.
SIMPLE SUPPERS & CLUB DINNERS
We often hold social evenings for members and friends, in each others homes. These are arranged informally at club meetings and are wonderful affairs with lots of excellent food and good company.
They may have a fundraising focus or simply be a way of catching up and socialising. We also sometimes meet at key points in the year for a club meal in a restaurant or at someone’s home.
DAYS OF REFLECTION
Once a year the club holds a day of reflection when members reflect on the past year and discuss our achievements and ways we could improve the club. These are friendly, social occasions and members value the chance to chat informally, during breaks and discuss ideas and thoughts all together.
REGION MEETINGS
Region meetings are a fantastic place to network with other clubs, pool ideas, and discuss projects and events. They promote inter-club working and offer information and knowledge on pertinent issues which affect women and SI generally. Members attend from 11 clubs in the region which makes up the South-East. They are a great way to make friends and learn about the Federation that is Soroptimist International.
These day-time meetings are currently held 3 times a year on a Saturday.

SIGBI CONFERENCES
Our national conference is held annually usually at the end of October.
It is always a fantastic event with excellent keynote speakers, a chance to hear from other clubs about their project work, dinners and entertainment.
