Important information for anyone attending conference from a country outside the UK.
It is recommended to apply for your VISA, if required, at least six months before travel.
Note that there are new regulations from 25 February 2026, such that, depending on your nationality, you may need to get an electronic travel authorisation (ETA), which costs just £16. Currently this applies to the following countries within our Federation:
- Antigua and Barbuda
- Barbados
- Malta
- St Vincent and the Grenadines

The British High Commissions contact details are listed for those countries who require a standard visa, and they need a letter of support from SIGBI. Please note: SIGBI can only provide letters of support for SIGBI Members. Anyone from other Federations will need to ask their Federation for a letter of support.
Make sure you apply for a tourist VISA and not a business one.
