Soroptimists Celebrate The Year of the Monkey.
Chinese New Year was celebrated in style by some 30 Cirencester Soroptimists and their friends when local restauranteur Tatyan arrived with his home made
spring rolls: Tatyan was persuaded to take over the wok cooking, and the 5 course meal went ahead in style, with 4 volunteers serving to ensure that
the evening ran smoothly.
The meal, in aid of the Gloucester Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre GRASAC), was held in the home of Soroptimist Jackie Gloyn whose house was decorated with Chineselanterns and banners. A total of £880.00 was made: this will be donated to GRASAC to further their work with young people in schools to get the message across about the difference between coercive and consensual relationships.
