Welcome to SI Dublin

Welcome to the Soroptimist International Dublin Club website. Soroptimist International is a worldwide organisation for women who want to improve the lives of other women and girls. We are women who want to make a difference.

Soroptimist International Dublin Club was chartered in 1938 and over its 80 years has contributed to local, national and international projects. Recent projects we supported An Taisce, Women’s Aid Ireland, Ruhama, Safe Ireland, Aware, Home Start, Teach Tearmainn Women’s Refuge, Water Aid providing clean water and sanitation, Daisy House Housing Association for homeless women and The White Ribbon Campaign working to prevent violence against women and the Irish Heart Foundation.

Soroptimist International are members of the National Women’s Council of Ireland which gives a voice to over 168 women’s organisations throughout the country. Annually SI Dublin takes part in the Soroptimist International Public Speaking competition for girls, which encourages young girls to have the confidence to speak in public.

Home-Start Wellness Workshop September 2024

Home-Start Blanchardstown has supported families in the Dublin 15 area for the last 35 years both in home visiting by volunteers and by running a respite crèche. Home-Start Blanchardstown is part of a world wide network of services operating in 22 countries. Arguably in this service, along with others, childcare workers need to adapt lifestyle choices that enhance their well being. SI Dublin Summer Outing

What a lovely Summer Outing ! A big thank you to Linda for organising a great day last Saturday 17th August at Henrietta Street. We had a lovely day, starting with a Georgian Dublin Walking tour, by such a great and knowledgeable guide! This was followed by a lovely lunch in the area and finishing off with a tour in Henrietta Street. Delighted to be joined by friends old and new, and discovering areas of Dublin some of us never knew existed. Looking forward to next years already !❤️

2024 Girls Public Speaking Final

Congratulations to Friza Farnham, from St Joseph’s Castlebar, our winner of the Girl’s Public Speaking Competition in the Mansion House in Dublin. All the girls spoke wonderfully and our judges, Chaired by Sarah Benson, CEO of Women’s Aid had a tough task to pick a clear winner.

Home Start Blanchardstown March 2024

Anne Murray from Home Start in Blanchardstown was presented with a cheque for €440 from SI Dublin members Mary Troy & Breda Hayes which was raised from the Women’s Mini Marathon 2023
