SI Dublin Girls Public Speaking Heat in the Mansion House Dublin.
Well done to all the girls who took part in the Public Speaking Competition in the Mansion House this morning. Congratulations to the two winners April Ward from St. Louis High School Rathmines and Manny Choudhry Loretto Secondary School Balbriggan and the runner up Kimia Esmallzadem Loretto Secondary School Balbriggan.
Girls Public Speaking Competition 2016/2017
Girls Public Speaking Competition 1st round will take place Saturday 19th November at 11am in the Mansion House. Girls from schools around Dublin will participate in this round. The Regional round of the competition will take place Saturday 14th January 2017 at 11am in the Mansion House also.
Presentation to Home – Start, €690 raised by SI Dublin members.
President Patricia Tyrrell with SI Dublin members Maura Quill and Mary Troy presented Joan Ashbook and Denise Laird from Home-Start with a cheque for €690 that was raised by our members who took part in the Women’s Dublin City Marathon in June. Home-Start is a voluntary organisation in which volunteers offer regular support,friendship and practical help to families with young children, in their own homes, helping to prevent family crisis and breakdown.
SI Dublin supporting Deptment of Justice & Equality Human Trafficking Dept survey on human trafficking in Blanchardstown SC
This Friday 21st October SIGBI carried out a survey which seeks to discover what understanding of trafficking there is in the community. This project is being supported by the Northern Ireland Department of Justice and the Department of Justice here – specifically the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit.
