We had a fantastic day in the Mansion House for the competition. Well done to all the girls who took part. Sarah Armstrong who represented SI Castlebar was the winner.

SI Dublin Public Speaking Competition 2015 Mansion House
Well done to all the girls who took part in the competition yesterday at the Mansion House in Dublin. Thank you to Cllr Janice Boylan who welcomed us to the Mansion House. Congratulations to the two finalists Mia Doran and Manny Choudhry and the runner up Katelyn Conway McLoughlin all from Loretto Balbriggan.

“Have a Cuppa for Daisyhouse “
Dublin homeless women’s charity, Daisyhouse, is encouraging companies, schools, community groups, organisations and the general public to hold their own ‘Have a Cuppa for Daisyhouse’ event to help raise essential funds to support women to break the cycle of homelessness. The fundraising events, which the Association hopes will be held across the country, will take place from the 1st – 7th of November. Details can be found on the website, www.haveacuppa.daisyhouse.org

North South Conference, Europa Hotel Belfast.
6 members of SI Dublin attended the North South Conference at the Europa Hotel Belfast jointly hosted by Presidents Margaret Geraghty and Karen Elliott.The conference had energising and inspiring speakers including Mary-Clare Deane the 1st female CEO of the Royal Opera House Belfast. Other speakers included Billy Dickson and Jim Gamble. The conference was a great gathering of Soroptimists and all enjoyed a wonderful weekend. We were delighted to get the opportunity to hear Rebecca Ross winner of ROI Public Speaking Final and Northern Ireland’s winner Hannah Martin.
