Who We Are

Who is Soroptimist East London?

Who is Soroptimist East London?

It’s said that behind every successful woman is a whole tribe of other women. That’s us – Soroptimist East London!

Imagine a group of women who:

  • volunteer together to make a real difference locally and internationally,
  • provide volunteering opportunities to help you achieve dreams or develop new skills,
  • back you up to achieve your goals,
  • put you in touch with other women all around the world,
  • are female friends who you can rely on to support you.
Soroptimist East London say no to violence against women.

More about us …

Soroptomist East London is part of Soroptimist International – the world’s largest women’s volunteer organisation dedicated to serving other women – with nearly 80,000 Soroptimists worldwide. Soroptimist International has consultative status at the United Nations, meaning that all the work we do, whether right here in East London or further afield, can have an impact at the very height of international affairs.

Soroptimist International East London logoOur club, Soroptimist East London is a real sisterhood. Founded in 1931, today our members live, work or have personal connections in the east end of London. We have members from throughout East London from the crowded City all the way out to the leafy green suburbs. Women coming together to empower each other, empower women in East London and all around the globe.

This means that we empower and support each other as members, we empower and support women in East London and also women internationally.  The Soroptimists of East London are all about making friends with like-minded women, having fun, and working together to help improve the lives of women and girls locally, nationally and internationally. We’re an active and fun club and have good links with Soroptimist clubs in other countries.

What does Soroptimist East London do?

We empower women to achieve positive change and sustainable development right here in the east end of London and around the world.
