Hello and welcome to our club’s website. My name is Anne Martin and from 2026 to 2027 I am delighted to be the club’s president. I have two adult children and three grandchildren and I enjoy being part of their lives.
I am a farmers daughter and love all things rural and natural soI have great pleasure walking my lovely dog in the countryside near my home. My dog is my loving and loyal companion and makes me go out even when the weather is awful as he doesn’t care ! I worked for Scotland’s rural college for many years. It was work I enjoyed and it kept me in touch with my farming roots.
In 2013 I joined Falkirk Soroptimist club. I had heard about it from a friend and thought ‘this may be what I am looking for’. I discovered that its an international organisation that feeds into the UN so every member and club can make a difference to women’s lives locally. regionally and internationally. No other women’s organisation can achieve this.!
SI Falkirk is a welcoming and friendly club and I have made some wonderful friendships over the years. One of the many things I love about being a Soroptimist is the pleasure of being with like minded women.
I have held several positions within the club such as secretary and membership officer. The club has a great social life as well as being a club that serves the community. As you will see below there is a full program of social events ranging from celebrating International women’s day to day trips sailing on the canal on a lovely summers day (all with tea and cake!).
Whats most important to me is that all the members contribute in some way as we are an inclusive club and working together we can change the lives of women and children near and far. So please get in touch if you would like to know more about the club. Contact details are below
