Harrogate and District Soroptimist have been in action at the local Women’s Refuge. Giving a lick of paint to improve the Environment in the Art Room. The Art Room provides a space for the children and young people who are in the Refuge with their mothers. A place and to be distracted from their everyday worries. The Club is currently working with the Refuge management team to improve the environment. This also includes replacing curtains and fund-raising to make safe the children’s play area. The Club also supplies starter packs for the families who are ready to start a new life. Many have little to take with them to their new home. The Refuge is part of the local Independent Domestic Abuse Service
The Art Room needed a good lick of paint – so with the colours chosen by those staying in the Refuge – Club members set about brightening up the area.
