The club continues to support Wirral Foodbank through donations of cash and goods which are delivered regularly to the Foodbank centre in Birkenhead throughout the year. Richard Roberts is manager at the Foodbank and recently talked to members giving them an update on all that is being achieved in supporting local people in need of emergency help.
Emergency food is provided in response to referrals from local sources such as Wirral Council and Citizens Advice. Food parcels to last for four days are provided and are appropriate to the recipients circumstances. In 2025 over 14,000 people benefited from these packages.
In addition to the food packages further support is given to help individuals with advice to tackle the circumstances that resulted in the food emergency. This is Foodbank Plus and runs with help from Citizens Advice.
