For the new year 2025-26 the Club will support two charities through service and fundraising. The charities chosen each year can be large or small, local to national to international, and follow the Soroptimist criteria of educate, empower and enable opportunities for women and girls. The charities for 2025-26 are Merseyside Dementia Friendly Radio and Neema Children’s Home in Kenya.
As its name suggests MDFR is based in Merseyside and is an independent online radio station for the benefit of those who are affected by dementia. MDFR launched online in 2020 and became available on Digital Radio in 2024. The station broadcasts 24/7 and offers music to recall and enjoy as well as providing links to local services and groups.
Neema Children’s Home opened in North Kinangop in Kenya in 1995. The home offers a family environment for children traumatized by family loss or health issues and supports them with education and living skills to achieve their independence.
