Member Myra met with Yvonne Caie who is the Benevolent Nurse Specialist at the Maternity Unit, Victoria Hospital. She discussed with her what our members could knit for the Maternity Unit. Yvonne explained that when a baby is stillborn or passes away shortly after birth that the parents are given a memory box, and that a blanket is given to them which covers the box, and which they can keep. After a few months Myra was able to present Yvonne with 30 knitted white blankets, and Yvonne was absolutely delighted with our efforts.
