Some of the team
In March our club received 420 trees from The Woodland Trust and we had two session at the Eco-Cemetery to plant them in a rather windswept field. We had some help from friends and family and a former member. The trees were very tiny ‘whips’ but still required a deep hole with some volcanic rock dust sprinkled at the bottom. It was hard work!
The Eco-Cemetery will contain traditional graves, as well as a columbarium, which is like an iron age barrow, where ashes can be held inside the cbamber. There will also be a wildflower meadow on the site.
