Welcome to Soroptimist International Great Britain and Ireland (SIGBI) Ltd.
SIGBI is a global volunteer movement and you have joined together with over 5,000 women in 250 clubs in 20 countries including Great Britain, Ireland and countries in Asia, the Caribbean and Malta who work at a local, national and international level.
As a Soroptimist and a member of a local club such as SI Medway and Maidstone, you can make friends and work together with like-minded women, have fun and work on projects that help improve the lives of women and girls through education, empowerment and enabling opportunities. Globally there are over 66000 members in 121 countries across 5 Federations.
We understand that when you first join, it can seem confusing as you learn about the history and structure of Soroptimists. Our new Members Pack is designed to give you an overview of the organisation and there is a helpful glossary of terms.
Please don’t forget that your fellow members in SI Medway and Maidstone will have a vast amount of knowledge and are happy to answer your questions at any time.
