Our dear member, Kath Sainsbury, gave a very interesting talk on Women Against State Pension Inequality (WASPI), a campaign of women directly affected by the Pensions Act 2011 which has plunged many women into poverty, and/or forces them to work longer.
Also, a cheque of £45 was given to our Treasurer, Alwyn Kraus, to send it for three Indian school children to take them out of poverty and get them into education, thus, transforming their lives. The money was raised from the sale of gift bags in May’s meeting.
