On 16th March 2024 the team held our Region meeting on zoom. It was good to see about 50 members from all our 13 clubs in attendance.
We were thrilled to present our speaker, Norree Webb who is the Salvation Army Anti Trafficking and Modern Slavery Team Response Coordinator.
It was humbling and enlightening hearing stories from Norree’s presentation and overwhelmed by the amount of work the Salvation Army is undertaking. As Soroptimists, we are aware of these issues and will endeavour to do more in highlighting and supporting the women and girls where necessary.
Joining us – our guest, Gillie O’Rourke who is our SIGBI President Elect and SI Board director and the chair of SI Foundation. She is keen to hear what we do and happy to share her vision with us at any of our meetings.
The meeting was positive and on time – with all officers’ contribution, members interactions, exchanging ideas and Q&A. We kept the meeting succinct and thanks to the team skills.
