Region Meeting 4th March 2023 on zoom
A full-on programme – our meeting commenced at 10:00 a.m. prompt.
- President Kam welcomed everyone and introduced the Regional Officers.
- President Kam’s theme is “Working together for our Success” this meeting was focused on “Communication”.
- Officers reports were previously circulated:- Finance, Programme Action, Membership, Benevolent Fund, Federation Councillor and Safeguarding. The officers were able to add to their reports. A social media survey is taking place throughout March and April led by Jacqui Purnell working together with officers who have social media and website roles.
- As there is no President elect in place, the plan is to form a team to undertake Presidential duties going forward.
- Listened to 3 inspiring speakers.
- Rachel Weinhold, SI Libertas – e-Club Rachel gave a very enthusiastic presentation on the journey to set up and run SI Libertas, SIGBI’s first e-club.
- SI President Maureen Maguire – A video recording updating “Opening Doors to a Bright Future” appeal and publicising SI Convention in Dublin 27th – 29th July – “Challenge the Future”- registration is now underway.
- SIGBI President Elect Ruth Healey– gave an informative presentation about her long history with Soroptimism to her current position and updated us on the exciting Hub which is now up and running.
- Overall positive feedback and comments received – Great programme with good attendance, well timed programme.
- In the afternoon some of our members joined the SIGBI International Women’s Day Webinar “embracing equity with digital dynamism”
