Breast cancer ranks as one of the top 5 deadliest cancers worldwide. Screening is an important part of early detection with the hope of decreasing mortality rates. Every year our club highlights the importance of screening. This year our members Dr Renata Ramsaywak-Lalla and Dr Angela Guerra produced a video on breast self-examination translated into Spanish – catering for the Venezuelans in our community. Using a live model, the video was posted on social media and followed up with a data collection form to assess how impactful the video was. The club’s President Elect Dr Renata Lalla was also interviewed on the CNC3 news segment speaking about the importance of screening for breast cancer. Additionally, we culminated the month with members wearing pink and taking pictures at the scenic Palmiste Park. The pictures were then shared on our social media.
