As a Club we work within the Programme Areas agreed at International level.
Violence against Women – Stop it now
We continually work to support a local refuge for mothers and children escaping domestic violence.
We host a monthly lunch and hold both a summer outing where the children enjoy a day in the country, enjoying the open air and doing such things as picking fruit and paddling in a stream and a New year Party where we provide entertainment for the children. Throughout the year we also provide numerous items for use as the families move into new homes.
Health
Members have for the past few years supported the community by providing monthly donations to a local Food Bank in Sutton Coldfield.
This year members enjoyed friendship and fun at a coffee morning at the home of one of our members and the £565.55 raised was donated to the Cancer Support Centre in Lindridge Road, Sutton Coldfield
Members continue to raise funds our Benevolent Fund which supports our members within our Federation at times of financial need.
Coronavirus
Members were delighted to be able to help front-line NHS staff during the recent Coronavirus pandemic by utilising our craft skills in sewing Scrub Bags and knitting hearts which along with such from other Clubs were donated to the Nightingale Hospital in Birmingham.
